- 2012 was the last year of the 997.2 generation of the 911, prior to the release of the 991 generation. The GTS model sits between the Carrera S and GT3 within the 911 lineup. The GTS adds the wider rear track and fenders of the Carrera 4, Centerlock wheels, a GT3-style interior with Alcantara seat inserts, specific fascia treatment and an upgraded version of the 3.8 liter engine now with 408 HP (up 23 from the S) and the same 310 lb-ft of torque, but available 200 rpm lower than the S variant.
